Reiki is the universal life energy, called chi or prana, that exists in every living thing. As explained in ancient healing traditions such as Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), we all have meridians in our bodies through which life energy travels. These are essentially veins but for energy instead of blood, and if the energy gets sluggish or stuck in our meridians, illness and disease can occur. Reiki treatments help keep the energy flowing through our meridians and provide healing for the body.
Reiki can help treat a variety of ailments including anxiety, depression, headaches, emotional pain, trauma, and physical injuries, as well as chronic conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, and fibromyalgia, among many others. Even if you don’t have any ailments or disease, Reiki can calm, relax, and rejuvenate the body and mind.
During a Reiki treatment, you lie fully clothed on a massage table and I bring energy into your body using a gentle touch. During a treatment, most people feel calm and relaxed, and may also feel energy shifting in different parts of their body. After a treatment, most people feel energized, rejuvenated, and refreshed. A treatment is approximately 1 hour long.
As a healer, I have always been sensitive to energies and able to move energy with my hands. I began giving myself Reiki as a teenager, before I even knew what Reiki was. As an adult, I became educated on the concepts and practice of Reiki, and went on to receive training and attunements from a Reiki Master. I am trained in Usui Shiki Ryoho, which is the Usui System of Reiki Healing. I received my first level of Reiki certification in 2018 and my second level in 2019, and I continue to study and practice Reiki on an ongoing basis. I invite you to read my client reviews to see what people are saying about my treatments.
I offer Reiki treatments at the Ottawa Integrative Health Centre (OIHC). Please book online via the OIHC website, or call the clinic directly at 613-798-1000.
